Back in 1998, there are three spots of exposed rock slope after the construction of North-South Highway. The height of the rocky slopes are up to over 100m. Structural Repairs is involved in the installation of the inspection ladder for the entire North-South Highway. It is done with the rock bolt system.

The three locations completed at North-South Highway namely Bukit Lanchang section (Klang Valley), Chenderiang tunnel section (Ipoh) and Bukut Merah, Perak.

All the rocky slopes are subject to rain water erosion and vegetation growth, etc. The purpose of the inspection ladder is to gain access to all the rocky faces. From there, periodical inspection can be made by the maintenance personnel.
